Bible Verses on Slavery

This post contains Bible Verses About Slavery. The slavery of sin is a recurring theme in the Bible that reminds us that human nature is corrupted by original sin. The Bible shows us that, although we try to be good on our own, we are unable to free ourselves from the slavery of sin without God’s help.

The apostle Paul expresses this clearly in Romans 7:18-19, where he says: “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.”

However, thanks to Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, we can be liberated from the power of sin. 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” This passage reminds us that, through our faith in Jesus, we can be reborn as a new creation and leave behind our former life of slavery to sin. Thus, we can find true freedom in Christ and live a full and meaningful life.
